Problem list management can be performed in many locations, including within the Problem List activity, within navigators, and using problem-oriented charting tools.
A particularly convenient work area is the chart Sidebar (right-most section of an opened inpatient or outpatient chart). The Sidebar index has an entry for "Problems, Hx" with a right-pointing arrow.
Selecting the right arrow will open a Problem List editing tool within the Sidebar.
By this means, one can review past documentation using the Chart Review or Notes activities in the central area of the chart while having the problem list open in the Sidebar, so that additions and edits can be made without navigating to the main Problem List activity.
